Elfwood Elftowners

Elftown started as "the official community for Elfwood artists and writers", so naturally many of us here have Elfwood galleries and libraries. This wiki, originally created by [Paul Doyle], is a place to share our Elfwood links and talk about related stuff.

A rule

1. Try to stay on topic and type decent language. People with totally off-topic subjects should go here: NOW. If that's not enough, go to http://www.elfpack.com/ instead.

Anyway, with that safely out of the way, please add your name and links to the Galleries section if you wish to join and COMMENT!

2004-09-20 [elf-ervinx]: its a room ppl chat :P

2004-09-20 [liiga]: It's the comment area for this wikipage.

2004-09-20 [Flight of the Butterfly]: it's a place where people talk to one another or comment on stuff, so we've got time to type normally rather then in chatspeak ^^

2004-09-20 [Veltzeh]: Okay... I'm seriously refraining here. XD

2004-09-20 [Flight of the Butterfly]: is that good or bad? lol

2004-09-20 [Veltzeh]: Good for erm... you know... indifferent to everyone else, except maybe for humor. Hehehe...

2004-09-20 [Flight of the Butterfly]: lol ya, okies :P

2004-09-20 [t6]: I added my links....

2004-09-21 [Paul Doyle]: [elf-ervinx], please contribute something intelligent, or kindly move along. Thank you.

2004-09-21 [Flight of the Butterfly]: methinks (s)he did. . .

2004-09-21 [Avaz]: Should we also add an h1 "This is not a chatroom" in the comments too? :P

2004-09-21 [Adnama]: Moreso "This is not a 1337 chatroom." XP

2004-09-21 [Paul Doyle]: [Avaz], time to contribute to this wiki. *points to "Edit This Page"* ^____________^ Thanks!

2004-09-21 [Avaz]: 8. new new rule. :)

2004-09-21 [Adnama]: *applauds* Very nice and big. :B

2004-09-22 [TamponLollipops]: My computer is stupid and old. Elfchat doesn't work for me.

2004-09-22 [Paul Doyle]: Is it programmed to accept cookies and appelets?

2004-09-22 [TamponLollipops]: I know it accepts viruses. Once in a while it will decide it will accept an appelet.

2004-10-04 [liiga]: removed my link and Hopefully didn't screw up while re-adjusting the numbers. bbye Elfwood!

2004-10-04 [t6]: Um...the fanquarter is messed up because I can see my link under the wrong name...sorry but I think someones link is missing...I'm fixing mine....

2004-10-04 [Adnama]: Looking back into the page history, it seems he never put a link up there in the first place. :o

2004-10-04 [t6]: well there is no elfwood links in the house otherwise I would have filled it in....

2004-10-04 [Veltzeh]: Then it probably just has to be removed. X-)

2004-10-04 [Flight of the Butterfly]: hey, gotta question: an artist by the name of Amy Brown used to be on EW, but now I can't find her. Does anyone know if she has her own gallery? she sells her art at Hot Topic and other places ^^

2004-10-04 [Leara]: She's a very well known fairy artist, yeah, she has galleries, http://www.amybrownart.com/

2004-10-05 [Flight of the Butterfly]: ooo! I love you forever! thankies!

2004-10-10 [Paul Doyle]: Welcome aboard, [Pianomay44]! ^_^

2004-10-11 [Lord Dog]: I should probably sign up to this seein's as I have a gallery and such

2004-10-12 [The Coffee-Prophet]: Hi everyone, just wanted to say that i really enjoy this Wiki. Just what i need.

2004-10-26 [Paul Doyle]: Welcome aboard, [Lord Dog] and [The Coffee-Prophet] and [DawnUnicorn]! :) if you have any Elfwood friends on Elftown, please mention this wiki to them :)

2004-10-27 [DawnUnicorn]: I will do ^_^

2004-10-28 [Estantia]: yupsikle, [The Last] she is not here yet... can i just say, did anyone else here find that they were nearly forced to memorize their site page because their friend's kept asking them what it was? *glares at [The Last]*

2004-10-28 [HiddenFire]: the easy way to memorise them is simply by username. http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/~nathaniel777 is mine. It makes it all much simpler than http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/art/n/a/nathaniel777/nathaniel777.html @.@

2004-11-01 [Estantia]: i didn't know that you could do that.

2004-11-21 [The Last]: woah! Scary: there are people on elftown who actually belong to elfwood. There was me thinking I was one of a kind...

2004-11-22 [Ghost Lilly]: Suprise!

2004-11-24 [Estantia]: yup... and she's forgotten the art gallery...

2004-11-24 [Ghost Lilly]: What art gallery? *is confused*

2004-11-28 [Estantia]: she's got a thing in lothlorian as well...

2004-11-28 [Ghost Lilly]: ...ok ^_^

2004-12-07 [Paul Doyle]: I will likely be leaving Elftown permanently, unless something positive comes up within the next week or so. Therefore, I need someone to take over this wiki, someone who is responsible and has the kind of passion for Elftown I used to have. Anyway, privately message me if you are interested in running this wiki, with reasons. I only request I receive credit for founding this wiki. Thank you ^_^ I will turn this wiki over to the applicant I deem most worthy.

2004-12-07 [Leara]: Why would you leave? ; _ ; This is one of the reasons why ET is starting to go to the dogs, the dedicated members that are here for what ET was intended for are all slowly leaving, letting the cybering, non art or fantasy fan members take over.

2004-12-07 [Paul Doyle]: I made a stupid mistake. One person absolutely would not leave me alone, and caught me on a bad day. I misused my Assembly priveleges, big time. I found a way to ban someone. I have been on a probation, of sorts, for a while. I have been only partially active here lately because of my real life stuff, and the fact I am finishing my first novel. As far as I know, I have been kicked out of assembly, without being given a chance to stand up for myself, and while a significant percentage of assembly has been away. Because of my single, admittedly BIG mistake, I am no longer on assembly. They give assholes chance after chance after chance---ban, unban, re-ban, "permanent ban"

2004-12-07 [Paul Doyle]: revocation of "permanent ban", promotion to key positions on www.elfpack.com , and so on. Well, I've frankly had enough of the bullshit, and have long since stopped a lot of things. I was about the biggest unofficial patroller on Elftown. I sacrificed so much time, and so much effort to this place. I was happy when they opened www.elfpack.com, and thought it was the beginning of a new BETTER era for Elftown. I can see that is not the case. My heart is sick, and quite frankly my real life is way more important to me anymore. It's a real shame, all around. Oh well. I permanently pissed off the people who run this place, because I stick up FOR THE ELFTOWN ARTISTS.

2004-12-07 [Lerune]: Please don't be so general. I help run this place and I am not pissed off, but I will be if you keep lumping me into that category. And I wish you would stop obsessing over [Whim] becoming a guard on Elfpack. I have told you time and time again that Elfpack exists for ONE reason: to please the slutty cyber-sexers and give them their own place to play so that they leave US alone here. It is not a reward to be a Guard there, more of a punishment. Which is why NONE of the Guards here have any desire at all to be Guards there.

2004-12-07 [Paul Doyle]: And also pissed them off because I am rather passionate about what I stand for, and what I believe in. Well, I could go on and on. I admit I am a bit of a self-promoting fool. However, were it not for Elftown, I would have abansoned my novel, and not bothered restarting my artwork in 2003 after twelve years away. ET has given me more self-esteem, more self-confidence and more of a welcoming feel than a lot of things in my life. If I had the programming skills and the time (which I most certainly do not have either of) I would open an e-community where bullshit is not tolerated, well-meaning artists/writers/musicians would be welcomed with open arms. The artsy-fartsies would reign supreme!

2004-12-07 [Paul Doyle]: end of rant.

2004-12-07 [Lerune]: And what a rant it was. Please see my comment that interrupts somewhere in there. ;o)

2004-12-07 [Paul Doyle]: I was not lumping anyone. Certainly not you. I am done with that person you mentioned, and have been done with the person for weeks. I have no time for the person. There will be no more drama.

2004-12-07 [Leara]: I don't understand how said person hasn't been banned from ET. He's a royal asshole. Thats something I probaly shouldn't write on a public page, but I really don't care if he reads it. Ok...if members that out right knowingly break rules, and get second chances...why shouldn't someone devoted to ET like you get one to. As you even said, it was a mistake. It feels like theres a lot more tension on ET lately, and I'm even getting annoyed to hell with it. And Elfpack isn't helping very much towards what its there for.

2004-12-07 [Paul Doyle]: This is (currently) my wiki, so you are more than welcome to your points of view. If comments are deleted, they will not be deleted by me unless I give fair warning (don't worry about this!) I have moved some of this discussion off of elftown, away from elfwood, and onto my LiveJournal page, which may be linked from my ET house (you have to be a LiveJournal user to respond, though---fortunately, LJ accounts are now free. Or if you are a real sucker, like myself, you get the premium option ;-P) Anyway, hope things settle down soon. I hate to see everyone so upset. The only way to help change happen to this place is to express yourself---nonbelligerently (I ought to practice what I preach!)

2004-12-07 [Paul Doyle]: Express yourselves on the forums, such as "Elfwood, Suggestions" and so forth. Forum-usage is easier than it looks, although if anyone has a clue how to use "prio-forums" in a way that make sense, let me know :P Anyway, there are a few people on those forums who will go out of their way to make you look stupid, make you look like a Nazi, or just plain old froth-mouthed. Either that, or they ignore you completely. Often it's worse than the proverbial salmon, swimming upstream. I have been made to look stupid, repeatedly. Yet as artists, writers and musicians YOU HAVE TO STICK UP FOR YOURSELVES. I'm not trying to be a martyr, or a bleeding heart. I just want this place to go "back to basics!"

2004-12-07 [Paul Doyle]: I wound up not getting any writing done tonight. Between dinner, Monday Night Football, family-related stuff and all this (melo)drama, not a word. *sigh* still on page 425 of my first novel @__@

2004-12-07 [Paul Doyle]: One final note---if I DO get banned from Elftown for all this crap, follow the rules and remove my name from this list. I am not above my own laws. Thank you ^__^

2004-12-07 [Leara]: Ack. @_@ And I don't understand the forums on ET, or I'd post in them more, there set up is confusing, and doesn't seem well organized. Trying to sift through them gives me a headache. I'm still shocked more people haven't reported me to the guards than the ones I know of, lol, I do well sticking up for myself, even if it included bitching people out...and occasionally making them cry. *cough* >.> I actually wish more people wopuld do so, speak out instead of not saying anythign to appear 100% pure, proper, and polite. >.>

2004-12-07 [t6]: I don't understand the forums either....I did standing up for myself and bitching once and now I shall hide because it got me in such big trouble....and I know they are still watching me for my next mistake....

2004-12-07 [Veltzeh]: The trick is in standing up for yourself but not getting into trouble... ;-)

2004-12-07 [t6]: which is impossible when you encounter certain people on the staff list....

2004-12-07 [Veltzeh]: I can imagine the sort of situation... I have experience, though not personal experience. >_>

2004-12-07 [Nita]: I don't think you ever did anything that could get you closer to a ban, [t6]... :)

2004-12-07 [Lerune]: And I also don't think anyone is going to ban Paul over his opinions, especially not on his own wiki page. Paul has contributed a lot of his time to this site, and we know and appteciate that.

2004-12-07 [HiddenFire]: I've never had a problem with the ET staff. Generally speaking as long as you don't resort to name calling and remain decently calm everything is allright. Paul here has been put through QUITE a bit and I can't say I would have reacted differently.

2004-12-07 [Leara]: The name calling thing is a good point...I'll thoroughly bitch at people, but I won't name call, by the time the convo gets to the reporting point, their the ones who've started name calling, not me. Thats a good lesson for everyone, know your limits, and don't cross them till the other person has...because if someone's to blame, it'll be them for taking it that step further.

2004-12-07 [HiddenFire]: Also, what tends to thuroughly piss people off... but might make you look like your giving up is to state something as simple as "I'm not playing your game" and stop alltogether. Sometimes you have to decide that you can't let them get you angry. But Paul here, they where doing all manner of things from what I understand. Things that are so far across the line that IMO legal action might have been taken. Still Paul, you really can't let people like that get to you, that's what they want. They sought to "teach you a lesson" and if you back down and retreat then they've won. *shrugs* then again a break from ET for a while might calm things down a bit... time heals all things.

2004-12-07 [The Whistler]: i don`t name call online. just laugh at the people that i`m fightin with which irritates them even more...

2004-12-07 [Leara]: I don't name call either. That was my point, because if the other person starts name calling, who's bound to be in the most trouble? You, or them. Them.

2004-12-07 [HiddenFire]: I think the worst I get with name calling is calling someone a moron... or something similiar. But it's not blatent and generally I call something they say/do stupid. I of course give reasons as well. *shrugs*

2004-12-07 [The Whistler]: you`re definately right. plus if you name call you show how angry the person made you

2004-12-07 [Leara]: I usually tell people to stop acting like an idiot, or being one, but that usually is aimed towards their 10 year old behavior.

2004-12-07 [Lerune]: I have talked to Paul time and time again about ignoring these people. For some reason, so many people seem to think that we are just letting these people run rampant all over Elftown. This is not the case. When someone figures out how to get around an IP ban (and it is simple enough to do) then they can continue to creat clone accounts and continue to access Elftown with these new accounts. If it was possible to stop them, we would do so, but all we can do it watch and ban the new account when it is created, and since they usually have a reconfigured IP, it is not easy to do. They eventually grow bored with trying to stay here, but not as long as they KNOW they can piss people off,

2004-12-07 [Lerune]: which is the case with paul and bubba. He keeps coming back just because he knows Paul will go nuts when he finds out. It is childish, and ignoring it WILL work. It finally did. Another thing that makes it worse is trying to rally people around you -- this only fuels the fire and blows it out of proportion (as was done on the Clone Houses wiki). The more publicity they can get for their actions, the harder they will try to piss people off. The ONLY way to combat such childish behavior is to be an adult and ignore them. No matter what they say. As a guard, I have to swallow my pride often and ignore people rather than blow up and make myself look like a child as well.

2004-12-07 [Leara]: As far as I'm concerned, half of the members on ET shouldn't be here. Their not artists, or art fans, their not fantasy lovers or fans either...they have no purpose here beyond seeing it as just another chat community where they can try and find a 'hott' guy or girl to cyber.

2004-12-07 [Lerune]: That may very well be, and a lot of those people are on Elfpack now, doing just that, away from the rest of us. I know this is true because I see the Guard report list everyday, and the harrassments have gone down quite a bit since the addition of Elfpack. But, I also don't think that Elftown should JUSt be for artists and writers. I was not given the impression that is what it was for when I joined, or I wouldn't have joined. I figured it was a place for the artists of Elfwood, AND a place for fantasy lovers to mingle with those people. I am not a very good artist, but I LOVE the fact that I get to visit here and talk with artists I admire, like [Silvestris] and [Adnama], for instance.

2004-12-07 [Leara]: Thats why I said art fans....and Elfpack is only now getting a little over 100 members online at a time, to say a 'lot' of those people are on there...just seems inaccurate at best.

2004-12-07 [Lerune]: Well, then I suppose I am inaccurate, as well as the Guard report list, with all due respect to you. Whether a banned member chooses to go to Elpack is up to them, but Elfpack is not closed to ANY member banned from here, just to get them away from the people here. I am just trying to mediate here and help everyone see both sides of what has been deemed "such an issue." I will not start arguing with anyone, and if the conversation turns that way, I will respectfully step out of it.

2004-12-07 [HiddenFire]: Bubba is a special case. I don't care who knows it, I think the dude is psychotic. I actually don't mind most of the people he hangs around, they've all be half decent people to me... as long as you realize that most of what they say is said in jest. *shrugs* Ignoring the person in question was/is the right thing to do. Generally if you let them know something bothers you, they will keep doing it. That's basic playground psycology.

2004-12-07 [Lerune]: And it is sad -- I agree wholeheartedly. He only does (well, did) those thing just because he KNEW it would make people angry, which is the silliest, most childish attitude in the world. And we did all we could to keep him off of here...but like I said, when they figure out how to get around the IP bans, it makes it a lot more difficult.

2004-12-07 [HiddenFire]: yep, that's the way it's allways been. On the net, if someone wants to do something, all they have to do is figure out how. I suppose it's like art theft. If somone places artwork on the net, I can steal it. If I can see it, I can steal it. I know this from trying to protect my own artwork. I found that there are simply ways that cannot be circomvented. Such is the case with many things on the net. Sometimes you just can't do anything about it.

2004-12-07 [Lerune]: And for people who don't understand that, it looks as if you are doing nothing... =o(

2004-12-07 [HiddenFire]: Am I that incoherient? @.@

2004-12-07 [Lerune]: No, I didn't mean it that way, silly. You said you understood, and I was merely pointing out that some people DON'T understand, and those are the ones who yell at me for not doing anything when I am doing my best. ;o)

2004-12-07 [HiddenFire]: ah... I see. @.@

2004-12-07 [Lerune]: I was agreeing with you, I suppose I should have done so a little more clearly. ;o)

2004-12-09 [Adnama]: There are actually ways that you can protect your art completely from the average art thief, but it requires real html knowledge and Flash animation. Using flash, there's no way to copy, paste, or save to the computer. You also can't take screenshots because it'll turn up blank. The only problem with that method is that it's extremely hard to do and it's expensive. x_x; Just my little bit of input. :3

2004-12-09 [Ghost Lilly]: Man, that suxs. why do peole have to steal your art anyways. If they didnt do it, that would solve all of our problems. But they are going to do it and will keep in finding ways to. *sigh* its not fair.

2004-12-09 [Adnama]: Yeah. It does suck that so many people act that way. But then again, the tards make life interesting. X3 Some of them are just plain entertaining. :3

2004-12-09 [Ghost Lilly]: Are they now ^_^ ?

2004-12-09 [Adnama]: Yep. [Paine] is still amusing. :B It's sort of become a daily routine to see what she's up to and to kick her off of whatever new site she made. She steals a lot of art from a lot of different people.

2004-12-09 [Lerune]: She amazes me, honestly, that ANYONE would go to such lengths to steal art. For all the work she puts into it, she could justtake art lessons and draw her own stuff.

2004-12-09 [Ghost Lilly]: Mabey she dosnt have that much confidance. ^_^ I would go look at her house, but Im afraid she would steal my art. *cowers in own house with a big base ball bat*

2004-12-11 [HiddenFire]: Honestly though, I don't mind people using my art as long as they don't claim it to be theirs, they don't edit it, and they don't try and make any sort of gain from it. I'm all for people using my images as desktop images or suggesting to people that their RP character somewhat resembles an image of mine. I would prefer people ask. I'm a nice guy, what most people don't realize is if they ask me for permission, chances are, I'm going to give it to them. I might look into flash... sounds promising. But I still like the simplicity of HTML and CSS. I just tested your claim that flash produces a blank spot when the print screen button is pressed... nope, shows up just fine.

2004-12-11 [HiddenFire]: It's a screen shot. It just copies what is being ouputed to the monitor to the clipboard. There is no way I know of to get around that... unless you can somehow know programming enough to dissable that particular button.

2004-12-11 [Adnama]: Don't worry about her accessing that house. She's been banned from there. ;3 -- I've seen some flash videos that, when you screen shot it, it will show the picture, but only while you have that flash running. Once you close the flash, the picture becomes blank. I don't know how that worked, but it happened. x_x;

2004-12-21 [Po]: Hey, proud Wyvern's writer here, touting my newest additon to the library! I wrote a short novel and it is posted in it's entirety on my shelf. I'm #14 up on the listing there, and I'll add a link here for easy access. Please, feel free to read and comment, constructive criticism is welcomed and recieved well. No flamers please, but I would love imput. Thanks! http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/libr/g/o/goddesspo1/goddesspo1.html

2004-12-31 [Paul Doyle]: *sigh* some people need to get a life. I'm only here part time now, and I come back to find [asdasdasdasd] gleefully getting off on messing with this wiki page. Nice. It's presumably your life's highlight up to this point. Now do us all a favor and hack into terrorist web sites, if you ever get unbanned. Anyway, in light of that silliness I've decided to keep this wiki, just I have decided to return to Elftown on a much smaller scale than before. [Veltzeh], thank you for fixing the page in my absence :-)

2004-12-31 [Lerune]: Well, by the time I got here, they had already banned that user, thank goodness. From the reports he had, it seems he had destroyed a ton of wikis. One of mine included. Some people...

2004-12-31 [Veltzeh]: Yep, he wiped two of the wikis I was watching... Fixed both =)

2004-12-31 [Adnama]: I don't know if one of my wikis was hit or not. :o I know that Hedda had done something to the New Crew contest I'm hosting and pretty much all the older versions of the page were gone. o_o I had no problem with it, just wondering what happened. X3

2005-01-11 [Estelthea]: I've just had a look through the wiki help and I'm still a bit lost. I want to join this group but when I go to edit the page it tells me to divide the page and I don't know how to do that! I'd rather not mess anything up or just add my details (because upsetting people in a group you want to join is never a good idea). Could someone either do the page divide for me or tell me how to do it please?

2005-01-11 [Adnama]: Oh, don't worry about that. ^_^ Pages fill up so easily, most people just ignore it. Plus, the wiki owner would prolly be the one to do that since it would require making a new wiki to move the stuff. Just add your name above where it applies and don't worry about dividing the page. :)

2005-01-11 [Estelthea]: Cool, thanks.

2005-03-17 [Paul Doyle]: Overhaul coming soon, with links to da elftowners, a link-banner made by [Kaimee], and better navigation :) Give me a week or two to finish fixing the last chapter and epilogue of my first novel, and I will make the changes :)

2005-04-01 [Paul Doyle]: come back, hedda! ;-)

2005-06-24 [The Scarlet Pumpernickle]: Waaaaaaa! I joined! I can't believe I never heard of this wiki before! I have been waiting sooo long for this!

2005-06-25 [Paul Doyle]: I guess I'd better re-publicize and overhaul this wiki. This time, rather soon! :3

2005-07-01 [Kaimee]: when did I make this banner? o.o I dont remember any banner.

2005-07-01 [Paul Doyle]: [Fyreferret] made the banner.

2005-07-03 [Fyreferret]: Wow.... it's been forever since I have been on elftown... Sorry... Life has sort of gotten in the way. But at least I am at a time in my life where i can check it every once in a while now!

2005-07-03 [Paul Doyle]: That's OK. Real life has absolute top priority ^_^ My life is getting a lot busier in a hurry, so I'll be scaling back my presence on ET in the near future. I have a second novel to write, a new work shift to get adjusted to (as part of my recent job promotion, I have to work the 8 PM-4 AM shift) family stuff, etc etc. Please don't feel sorry. Look at me---I still haven't gotten to fixing this page with subwikis, links, etc. Not to mention this wiki won a won an ET wiki award a while back. I've just been too busy. You go do what matters the most in your life---we'll still be here when you return :-)

2005-07-10 [Kaimee]: "2005-03-17 paul doyle: Overhaul coming soon, with links to da elftowners, a link-banner made by [Kaimee]..." ?

2005-07-10 [Kaimee]: ooooh, ive gone back through my uploads: <img:http://elftown.lysator.liu.se/stuff/kaimee_elfwood_elftowners_banner.jpg>

2005-07-10 [Paul Doyle]: "Overhaul coming soon" . . . so says the incredibly busy Pauly, who just so happens to have an adult form of ADHD . . . :PPPP

2005-07-10 [Ghost Lilly]: oooh, I have ADHD tooo.... although, Im not nessisarily considerd an adult *sigh* darn hu?

2005-07-10 [Paul Doyle]: Stay away from the Ritalin and other legalized amphetamines.

2005-07-10 [Ghost Lilly]: ... o.o ... um... to late... well, a while ago to late... but still to late. Ritalin is what I took.

2005-07-17 [thehogfather]: Elftown is so cool

2005-08-13 [Kaimee]: Lovely.

2005-09-24 [mondo86em]: soooo I'm guessing that the banner that [Kaimee] made is for houses?

2005-09-25 [Kaimee]: yup :3 Anyone's allowed to use it if they wish :)

2005-09-25 [mondo86em]: thanks, I went to add myself and its got that red alert thing that the page is getting to big :(

2005-09-25 [Paul Doyle]:

Attention: Elfwood/Elftowners and [Elfwood Elftowners! On LiveJournal there is a discussion about Elfwooders looking for a good community. Please go here (whether you have an LJ account or not!) and try to help me convince skeptical "outsider" Elfwood artists and writers that Elftown is a place for them. Thanks! Highly appreciated ^_^     --Pauly  http://www.livejournal.com/community/elfwood/819932.html?view=5577180#t5577180t5577180  P.S.---you CAN post anonymously on this LJ, though it gives you more posterity if you at least say who you are! :P

]

2005-09-25 [Paul Doyle]: Apologies for branding the back of your eyes with big text. o_o;;;

2005-09-25 [mondo86em]: lol its ok just make some room so I can join :P (btw I went and posted there)

2005-09-26 [Paul Doyle]: Re-vamping in progress . . .

2005-09-26 [Paul Doyle]: Please note minor rule change. You CAN chat here, but don't drain our brains with stupid 1337 netspeak and cerebrum-atrophying AOLese. Smileys, commonly understood phrases ("lol", "g2g", "LMAO!", "btw", etc) are OK, though. Moral of the story: Internet shorthand is OK, but don't talk like a retard or an Elfpack lifer.)

2005-09-26 [The Scarlet Pumpernickle]: heh..I love it

2005-09-26 [mondo86em]: did anyone notice they're looking for mods on elfwood

2005-09-26 [Paul Doyle]: I wonder why there's such a big Mod turnover? o__O

2005-09-27 [mondo86em]: 3 to 4 hrs a week looking at uploads can be hard on a person, it takes alot to keep a site as big as elfwood running thats why I dont mind waiting on tickets

2005-09-27 [Paul Doyle]: By the way, if people want to help me straighten out this wiki, please go ahead. Also, if you have been waiting until the "reconstruction" to finish to add your name to elfwood elftowner galleries, please go right ahead and add your names/links anyway. I can produce, yes. But can I properly organize? Um, to be quite frank? Not really :P

2005-09-27 [Veltzeh]: Mods tend to wear out, the workload is big after all. ;)

2005-09-27 [Kaimee]: I'd apply, but I don't think my history is good enough :P

2005-09-27 [Veltzeh]: The logs were reset :P

2005-09-27 [Kaimee]: Hmmm..... >:P

2005-09-27 [Paul Doyle]: If I had a clone to augment my presence on Teh Internetz, I'd consider, ;-P

2005-10-11 [Paul Doyle]: Of interest to DeviantArt people here: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/713607953 . Do see da elftowners for more info, if you are a DA artist who has yet to join the wiki. Thanks ^_^ ---Pauly

2005-10-14 [Kaimee]: It's not of interest to this deviant art person ^^; Same principle applies as here: we have no right to anything on that site, if we don't want to expose our art and ourselves to that sort of situation, no ones forcing us to. Any art put anywhere it can be publically viewed is immediately open to that sort of stuff. I personally like the site, like the rules, and if anyone actually has something legitimate to get huffy about, geez, sue them. Don't Americans like suing people? TV says they do :P

2005-10-14 [Paul Doyle]: America scares me, anymore. I follow most of the rules, etc, but I'll be damned if I can figure my country out o__O  But yes, it's rumored that the motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is a clever acronym, and the "L", in fact, does stand for "Lawsuit!"  ^_~

2005-10-14 [kay-chan]: Hee. America sues people like MADNESS. It's more of our national pastime than baseball. XD

2005-12-17 [Paul Doyle]: Time to update this page . . .

2006-01-16 [grey wanderer]: You know how people say they don't like being grouped by who they hang out with, religion etc. WELL IT"S THE SAME THING WITH CONTRY!!! Maybe it's not if you live in one that didn't act like...well...you know. I wish I lived in Canada. ANYWHOO...I'm glad I've finally found this. There should be a wiki ring for actuall elftowners.

2006-01-16 [kay-chan]: Right-o, Grey. Don't group you, but you wish to live in Canada because you'd be grouped with all the Canadians. Well said, good opinion, et cetera. *yawn* And welcome to the wiki.

2006-01-16 [Paul Doyle]: Oh, group this. In real life I wear a suit and tie and supervise, and yet I persist writing and pretending I'm an artist. Perhaps you could build a fort in a forest and start your own country :B

2006-01-19 [Kaimee]: I started my own country >.> No body knows this yet though. But it's mine. >.> Shh.

2006-01-19 [Kaimee]: That does it, I'm doomed. I could never swing over a chasm :(

2006-01-19 [kay-chan]: Yeah, I'd have died much earlier in that book... But it's so sad. You've gone and made my cry, [Paul Doyle], for making me remember that book...

2006-01-19 [Paul Doyle]: Yeah, that book was a serious downer when I was in fifth grade, more than 20 years ago. Now some places overreact, and ban that book from their school systems. :P

2006-01-19 [kay-chan]: A lot of good books are banned for the stupidest reasons... Like Captain Underpants was an attempted ban. Several times. XP Stupid censor-happy people...

2006-01-19 [Paul Doyle]: "Sylvester and the Magic Pebble", which was huge when I was a kid, is banned in places because the policemen are pigs. Oh noez!!!!1122eleven1!

2006-01-21 [Kaimee]: God forbid children deal with emotions and issues! Oh no! Their minds will be tainted forever with the beginnings of intelligence if we let them think and discover things themselves! >:O

2006-01-21 [Paul Doyle]: As a father, the only things I filter from my six year old boy's viewing are outright porn, graphic violence and extreme profanity. Other than, I don't shelter him. My wife doesn't share all of my views, but she doesn't keep him under her wing, either. Kids get all messed up if they're in overprotective situations. Children need to learn about life and accept it, as they can comprehend it.

2006-01-21 [Kaimee]: You're talking to the girl who as a 6 year old was allowed to watch the R18+ horror movies her older brothers did because her parents looked at them once, laughed, and decided plasticene faces could in no way hurt me :P

2006-01-21 [Ghost Lilly]: Kids around the area where I life are really shelterd. I would even have to admit that Im one, just not so bad as most of them. But as my friends put it, "alot of the people around here are so shelterd, that when they go to collage and leave home that they are not going to know what to do with themselfs." they are going to be flat out terrifyed at socitiy, "and all most of the girls are going to do is come back to good ol' (insert my home town here) and become house wifes," to the boys who come back to farm.

2006-01-21 [kay-chan]: I was way too protected growing up.... Now I'm all psycho and crazy. XD

2006-01-21 [The Scarlet Pumpernickle]: uh huh...

2006-01-26 [Pnelma Tirian]: Sylvester and the Magic Pebble is an awesome book.

2006-02-05 [Veltzeh]: Oh hey! I would suggest http://www.sheezyart.com/ instead of Deviantart for plugging there. They're quite essentially the same, though Sheezyart isn't yet quite as popular as DA, but it's otherwise much better, especially their copyright policies. >_>

2006-02-05 [Paul Doyle]: I'm on Sheezy. It's been "down" so much I still haven't updated there. Elfwood is still number one in my mind, despite all the drama and hassle. Otherwise I would have left it quite a while ago.

2006-02-05 [Veltzeh]: Yep yep. Sheezy was down a lot some time ago but now that they got it updated, it's been staying up pretty nicely!

2006-02-06 [Paul Doyle]: Anybody else with dA alternatives? Please do not hesitate to post and comment in the new box! }:-D

2006-02-06 [Veltzeh]: http://www.side7.com/ is good too, but it's really slow, even slower than DA sometimes, which is a lot >_>

2006-02-06 [Veltzeh]: Anyway, another reason not to join DA is that you simply can't leave it (it's like Elftown in that sense)... but not only that, when you want to delete your stuff, you have to do it by hand on every single sumbission! That's really sucky >_<

2006-06-25 [Lothuriel]: I took my DA gallery down after an art thief was allowed to keep her gallery up and running and the original artist was basically told to stick and to keep her mouth shut. Here is the link to [Forever Equine]'s stolen art gallery http://hotize3387.deviantart.com/ I just thought I would share that with you guys, Paul. And also, another small gallery is www.paperdemon.com

2006-06-25 [Kachichan]: www.mangarevolution.com is a good website, with a great community. The only downside is you have to host your images yourself on something like Photobucket - it's no big problem though. ^_^ At least, not for me - it helps the staff keep it going fairly cheaply.

2006-08-20 [Forever Equine]: Thanks for showing me Loth but dA did ban her, although it took a very long time! I believe every site has their pros and cons.=)

I'm also a part of www.artwanted.com You can submit three pieces a month for free and their year subscription really isn't that badly priced, then you get tons of extras!=)

2006-08-20 [Lothuriel]: I know that now, [Forever Equine]...I plan on putting my stuff back up. That was my goal. I am just glad, for your sake, that she was booted.

2006-08-20 [Forever Equine]: Agreed.=)*hugs*

2006-08-20 [Lothuriel]: *hugs*

2008-09-28 [HardRockAngel]: Hello everyone *revives the wiki* =)

2008-09-28 [The Scarlet Pumpernickle]: *Waves*

2008-09-28 [HardRockAngel]: *Waves back*
How are you? =)

2008-09-28 [The Scarlet Pumpernickle]: sick. :/

2008-09-28 [HardRockAngel]: Ow, get well soon then <img:44166_1164145184.gif>

2008-09-29 [The Scarlet Pumpernickle]: thankees ^^

2008-09-29 [Paul Doyle]: Thanks for joining [HardRockAngel] . . . and again, if anyone wants to run this page however you see fit please let me know. I'm way too busy in real life to be of any use here, anymore.

2008-09-30 [Flight of the Butterfly]: *gasp!* You mean, there's another life to be had other then on Elftown?! *gets brain boggled*

2008-09-30 [Paul Doyle]: Yes, I shit you not!

2008-09-30 [The Scarlet Pumpernickle]: um... that's good. If you were shitting [Flight of the Butterfly]s that would be rather painful! :P

2008-09-30 [Paul Doyle]: Anyway, this wiki needs a new owner to do with it as he or she sees fit.

2008-09-30 [Veltzeh]: Maybe I could... It's not like I have much time either, but at the least I could do passive maintenance. :)

2008-09-30 [Paul Doyle]: Just say the word, and it will be done :)

2008-10-02 [Veltzeh]: Well then, I'll have a go at it!

2008-10-03 [Paul Doyle]: All righty. 'Tis done!

Bow down before the new owner of this wiki, [Veltzeh].

2008-10-03 [HardRockAngel]: *bows down*

2008-10-03 [Veltzeh]: Hmm hmm, now what to do! ;D Maybe not to do it at midnight, though.

2008-10-05 [The Scarlet Pumpernickle]: love the organization Veltz! d'ya think we could get an updated banner too? For the top I mean... the top one is... loud/cheap? It just doesn't look all that professional... is that a terrible thing to say?

2008-10-05 [Veltzeh]: I don't know. X) I'm bad with banners, since I prefer plain text over them.
Maybe we should have an artist challenge and get the artists to design some!

2008-10-05 [Paul Doyle]: I'm loving the re-organization. I guess my (treated!) ADHD was short of showing through this gigantic mess I made.

2008-10-05 [Veltzeh]: Thanks :)

2008-10-22 [Kaimee]: Whoa, totally forgot ever making that little banner for here, that was a lonnnng time ago. 4 or 5 years I swear! :O

2008-10-22 [Veltzeh]: Heh. Want to make a new one?

2008-10-22 [Kaimee]: Uhmmm. Well, I want to stop procrastinating and do my uni work. So maybe after that :P
